Community Outreach Ministry
At Park Hill Christian Church we are committed to serve God's people in our community and around the world. At least 10% of our annual budget is devoted to local and world outreach. In addition we donate to the Reconciliation Offering for the elimination of the primary causes of racism in North America, the Thanksgiving Offering for higher education institutions who are responsible for the theological education of the church's leader, the Christmas Offering for regional ministries in the region where the funds are contributed, the Week of Compassion Offering for humanitarian needs in the world, the Easter Offering for general ministries implementation of Disciples' imperative to strengthen congregational life, and the Pentecost Offering for new church development. These Special Offerings are a part of the Disciples Mission Fund, a ministry by which congregations, regions, institutions of higher education and general units share in the mission of the christian Church.
Our commitment to serve God's people extends far beyond our pocket books. Countless hours and bountiful talent are donated for the benefit of such community services as:
- ReStart Shelter
- Habitat for Humanity
- Together Center
- Harvesters
- Tall Oaks Camp and Conference Center
In 1989, in response to the needs of the community, Park Hill Christian Church joined together with Parkville Presbyterian Church and St. Therese Catholic Church to establish the South Platte Emergency Assistance Center, the food pantry serving South Platte County.
