K-4th Grade Sunday School Plans for Fall 2009
This year our curriculum is based on Quest for Identity by Cornerstones
Each session of our Sunday School for our preK-4th graders begins as each child is signed in and welcomed to Sunday School by our Welcome Team. We open each Sunday School with a short devotional which includes soft music and prayer with Kimi and our devotions team.
For most months, on the first Sunday of the month we stay together as a group to explore the Bible Story or Bible Theme for the month. The second and third Sundays of most months, to further explore our Bible story and themes for the month, we will break into rotation classes including Creation Station, Vineyard Café, and Moved by the Spirit. This schedule shifts slightly some months because of holidays and special holy days of the church. During Advent, Lent, and Easter, we will have special activities to help us celebrate and gain a deeper understanding of the meaning of Christmas.
We will be continuing our partnership with Faithkeepers Class, Faithkeepers Walk the Talk where the wisdom and fellowship between the Great Generation and the newest generation make new connections in faith and Christian love. Other Special Programs such as Ring Out! an introduction to handbells, and seasonal programs, and programs coordinated with the church year will also be included in our curriculum.
